Abraxas and Vivianna had been talking and had decided they wanted to throw their eldest son, the Crown Prince, a royal ball. Those in the Venetia Kingdom believed in marrying for love, which was a relatively knew notion in the last century, especially for royals. They weren't trying to forcefully push a wife on their son, but rather give him the opportunity to meet many women of high caliber so that maybe...he might start looking.
Of course they wanted their son to get married and while they did believe in love, they also wanted someone who would still look good on his arm. Heaven forbid he end up marrying a Toren thief or something of that nature.
The King and Queen approached their son one evening after dinner. "Titus, there is something we wanted to speak with you about." Abraxas told his heir with a small smile and a tone that indicated he wasn't in trouble or anything like that.

A smile spead across Vivianna’s face as she stood beside her husband looking at her son. A woman’s pride and joy was to give their husbands a heir and she couldn’t be any more happier than to have Titus as her son. Now that didn’t mean she didn’t love her daughters because she did. It was just a different kind of love for her sons. That was one of the reasons she wanted to make sure her son was married off to a noble or even a royal. Someone who knew what the job of being a princess or one day a queen would intail.
Please understand we only want is best for you Titus, Vivianna gave him a smile again as she looked from Titus to Abraxas. We also are not forcing you to pick any woman to marry, but it doesn’t hurt you to court a young woman with noble blood. Vivianna looked to back to Titus with her hands clasped in front of her.

Titus had been summoned by his parents--simultaneously, at that--to talk.
It was not a good thing.
He had been mulling over what he'd done recently, which was nothing impressive, if he was honest; nothing illegal or too immoral. A bit of loose morality, sure, but nothing he hadn't learned from his father, or that his mother hadn't implicitly accepted. Just the usual: pretty girls with loose legs.
Once his father said they had to speak about something Titus' stomach gave an uncomfortable lurch, though his father's expression said something else entirely. He gave a vaguely confident smile, as if understanding any of this, then glanced between his parents, listening.
Listening to his mother, Titus' heartbeat went from a rapid gallop to its normal pace. Oh, god, that was fine. Okay. Not great, but certainly not horrible news. As anyone did when they were confronted by their parents about A Talk, he had been sure he had done something horrific. As the Crown Prince of Venetia, the scale of Horrific was a lot higher than one's average commoner, so he had been positive he led to a diplomatic incident or something comparatively disasterous for himself or his people.
Courting women was easy.
"Oh," he said, smiling at his mother and father, looking from one to the other. "Alright. Though, um," he said, eyes flitting from one to the other, "when you say 'courting', do you mean you've already picked me out someone," he asked, "or..?" he trailed off, wondering.

Vivianna spoke and Abraxas chuckled. "Come on Viv, don't scare the boy before we've even told him what we're talking about." He said lightly teasingly, though he did honestly believe that she had started this conversation off on the wrong foot but tossing the idea that it was anything negative at him before even telling him their idea for the ball. Outwardly, he didn't show that though. He would never openly disrespect his wife in front of his children, or anyone for that matter.
"No, no, of course not." he responded to Titus with a warm grin. "Actually we were thinking we would throw a grand ball for you, invite all the eligible women in Elyria to attend and you can meet a variety of different ladies all in a single evening. A night all about you. What do you think?"

Brown eyes scanned Abraxas who stood beside then toward Titus with a smile on her face. Titus was a spitting image of his father when Abraxas was younger. Those blue eyes and chiseled jaw line could make any woman's heart flutter. Oh who was she kidding when she looked at Abraxas her heart still skipped a beat. Hearing him call her by her nickname didn't help the matters any either as she blushed. It didn't surprise her that Titus had many young women wrapped around his arms even though she wished he wouldn't be lose like his father. Vivianna's smile faltered a little as she turned her head to Abraxas then back to Titus with a sigh,I'm sorry for frighting you Titus She gave him a warm smile before speaking again, Im just excited at the thought of dancing and good company. Viviann did her best to contain her excitement for the up and coming ball. Her mind was racing with what food they would serve even though the cook was amazing at everything and to what music they would dance to all night. She might also been thinking about ways to seduce her own husband, but that was something she'd keep to herself and never speak to anyone about that. Vivianna grinned toward Titus, Never...We'd never force to marry someone you didn't love. She spoke calmly this time and placed a hand on his shoulder. A mothers touch of reassurance if you may call it that. Her boy was a grown man who didn't need his mother to baby him, but she still wish they all did. She also didn't want no harlot trying to win over her son's heart either and worm her ugly ways into royal blood. Vivianna would do her best to make sure that didn't happened. She worked to hard to keep this family line a float and put on a strong front for some harlot to ruin it all.Vivianna smiled, Your father is right. To make things easier on you.
