KIERAN GOTHFRAIDH TOREN
| GENERAL INFO | AGE | 21 HEIGHT | 5'4" WEIGHT | 125 lbs. OCCUPATION | Bartender/Tavern Owner
FACE CLAIM | Camila Mendes YOUR OOC NAME | Seruchan
| PERSONALITY | To the unassuming eye, Kieran would simply be the unremarkable bartender serving drinks to you on the opposite side of the counter, but one should be careful not to underestimate her--she's in fact also the tavern owner, it's just not very obvious. She loves to blend in with the crowd and study the spotlight from afar, because what good info broker doesn't, right? Indeed, Kieran happily provides information to those who need it--the ups and downs, lefts and rights, whatnots and wherefores, plenty of them are tucked inside her head. As the owner of a tavern she also has a penchant for business, having learned the knowhows from a veteran herself.
Hailing from Viorli, one of the three Toren Islands, Kieran has naturally been exposed to such a dangerous environment and as such she's learned to be resourceful and street-smart at such a young age--she still carries such traits now that she's an adult. With a knack for unconventional strategy and a cunning, if not mischievous, mind, it's no surprise why people tend to approach her for certain help.
The manner of her upbringing has left her always feeling independent, however, and as such although she has the penchant for helping people, she herself does not know how to ask for help--instead doing most things on her own. Sometimes, it's a good thing, and sometimes, it's a bad thing, and this especially rings true not only for physical help but also for emotional baggage. One could say that Kieran does not know how to open up to others, somehow always keeping herself at a distance no matter how close she is. It's not that she's avoiding people; more like she doesn't know how to approach people very well, leaving her always alone (but she's used to that so eh...)
Her life as a tavern owner would seem a bit tame compared to what she's experienced before, but Kieran still misses the thrill that danger gave her. It seems that she's naturally inclined to such a lifestyle, as most Toren might be. As such, one might find her inciting shenanigans in the dead of the night--in fact, she's also used "information-gathering" as an excuse for adventure. All in all, she's turned her tavern into an information hub where people could ask questions and get answers (or maybe request for answers, if Kieran's generous enough).

| HISTORY | The Gothfraidhs were a family not bound by blood, but rather by a strange sense of unity borne out of a stranger sense of loyalty. Owners and founders of one of the oldest taverns in Tartus, their establishment has always been known as an info hub for the masses--mostly because tons of people come and go inside the building, and with them came the heavy scent of information. It wasn't until the recent years, however, under the management of a certain Kieran Gothfraidh, that the tavern became more active in its info-gathering endeavors.
Kieran was a ten-year old orphan stowaway from Viorli when the Gothfraidhs took her in--they were known for supporting and adopting street urchins who displayed certain potential, and Kieran had been one such urchin. Growing up, there was a tight competition between Kieran and all her "siblings"--they'd been told in advance that one of them would inherit the tavern but they all had to be judged through a hidden set of factors. The Gothfraidhs believed in a pragmatic upbringing and taught their "children" to fend for themselves at an early age--sure, they had a roof to sleep under at night and were probably luckier than half the children in the island, but they still had to look for their own food and earn their own money. How they would do so, however, is completely up to the urchins. Some resorted through crime, some resorted through a high road (but a less beneficial road indeed), but Kieran had her own methods--a small business involving the use of sand and shells, as well as other odd jobs that one would never know actually existed. And through it all, the Gothfraidhs watched over them, and through it all, they finally chose one successor.
Spoiler alert: it was Kieran.
She had been eighteen years old when she began to run the Ocean's Song Tavern, and it didn't take long for Kieran to see the bigger potential that the establishment suppressed. With the connections she had within Tartus, as well as the popularity of the Gothfraidh name among street urchins, Kieran slowly began to work. Three years later, the establishment became not only a tavern nor an info hub, but a full-fledged underground spy network that utilizes the street urchins of Tartus to gather as much possible information about anything. Essentially, the Ocean's Song Tavern has become one of the largest info hubs in Elyria, with Kieran at the helm of it all.
